Visit of representatives of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan to TSIOS
Representatives of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Uzbekistan, Deputy Head Muhammad al-Sukkari and Khalid Muhammad Fikriy, the First Secretary of the Embassy, paid a visit to Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies on January 14, 2020. Rector of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies G. Rixsieva acquainted the guests with the history and activities of the institute. In particular, since 1944, the department of Arabic philology has been operating at the institute, and for about 76 years Arab scholars have trained more than 3000 learners. Educators were well-known academics, ambassadors, public figures and entrepreneurs. During the meeting, the information were given about 600 students studying Arabic as a primary and secondary language. In the framework of this meeting, some issues were considered between TSIOS and Higher Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt and according to that some relevant proposals were made. In that regard, it was decided to send Arab students to Cairo University in Egypt for a short-term internship in Arabic in July-August this year, and after the meeting, representatives of the embassy agreed on further development of cooperation with the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.
